Tip
There are 2 types of bubbles that could occur.
1. Large surface bubbles are created from over mixing the medium/pouring.
2. Small bubbles that are almost under the surface (those are trickier and come from a chemicals reaction between the substrate or paints that are being used)
To avoid bubbles, the best surfaces are birch or maple. Prime surface first with a layer of Fusion Paint. Don’t use MDF or other substrates with glues to avoid chemical reactions. A higher quality canvas or wood panel will help to avoid bubbles.
You can use heat to help reduce bubbles, although it is imperative to do this with care. You do not want to burn the resin.
Don’t pour from too far above (which can cause bubbles to form as the resin hits the substrate)
Gentle mixing of colours into the Pouring Resin and then waiting for a couple hours before pouring to allow for bubbles to dissipate will also reduce bubbles.
Tip
Spreading the the Pouring Resin: Is intended to be poured, brushing it on can create brush strokes and is not recommended. If you want to move the resin around, it is best to tilt the piece, but you can also use tools like a palette knife.
Tip
The pouring resin sticks well to aluminum!
