Add Dimension Without the Carving
Decor Appliques are ready-to-use embellishments that give furniture a custom, sculpted look without the need for carving or woodworking. Simply choose your design, glue it on, paint over it, and transform your piece effortlessly. These flexible resin appliques can be applied to curved surfaces without cracking and are paintable and sandable, blending in seamlessly. They are compatible with Fusion Mineral Paint and come in a variety of styles, from ornate baroque details to delicate florals. Some designs offer mirror-matched Left and Right versions for symmetrical placement.
A NOTE ON LEFT AND RIGHT PAIRS
Several designs, such as Lush Reverie, Serene Perch, and Velvet Cascade, come in Left and Right versions. They’re intended for symmetrical placement on headboards, cabinet doors, and more. For the best effect, add both versions to your cart.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
Strong adhesive: Use wood glue for wood surfaces; for a stronger bond, opt for E6000.
Sandpaper: Lightly sand the back of the applique and surface before gluing for better adhesion, and sand edges post-painting for a seamless look.
Fusion Products: After curing, paint over the applique in the same color to make it blend in like carved wood.
Wax, glaze, or gilding: Apply dry-brushed accents over raised details for an antique effect. Explore these in our Finishing Touches collection.
HOW TO APPLY
Step 1 — Plan your placement. Hold the applique against your piece to check placement. For pairs, position both simultaneously to ensure even spacing before gluing.
Step 2 — Glue and clamp. Apply a thin layer of adhesive, press firmly, and clamp until secure. Wipe away excess adhesive and let it cure before painting.
Step 3 — Paint and finish. Paint over the applique with the same color as your piece. Lightly sand the edges for blending, then add a dry brush of wax or metallic gilding for a highlighted effect.
