Collection: Stain
Want the look of stained wood without stripping everything back? Fusion’s stain line gives you rich, natural color on bare wood — or a fresh look on surfaces that are already painted, scratched, or uneven. Two great options: a ready-to-use Stain & Finishing Oil, or a brush-on Gel Stain & Topcoat that does both jobs in one step.
Fusion™ Mineral Paint Stain & Finishing Oil:
Brush it on bare wood for a beautiful, natural stain that soaks in and protects at the same time. No separate topcoat needed. Available in a range of warm wood tones — from light and natural to deep espresso and ebony. Great for tabletops, shelving, raw wood furniture, and accent pieces.
Stain & Finishing Oil over Fusion™ Mineral Paint
Stain and Finishing Oil (SFO) enhances protection and sheen on larger surfaces; applying more coats increases shine. When used over Fusion™ Mineral Paint, a thin layer of Natural (clear) SFO boosts sheen, color depth, and durability. Pigmented SFO also acts as an antiquing glaze, adding character and age to your project.
Fusion™ Mineral Paint Gel Stain & Topcoat
This one’s a game-changer for surfaces in rough shape. Scratched, uneven, laminate, melamine, milk-painted — the Gel Stain covers imperfections and adds color and protection in a single step. Available in a 1-quart size, ideal for most medium-sized projects.
Milk Paint Stain
Made from the same ingredients as Milk Paint, this stain soaks into bare or porous wood for a finish that will never chip or peel. Mix 3 parts water to 1 part powder for a stain consistency, apply, let dry, and seal with hemp oil, tung oil, or beeswax. Add more water for a washed, whitewashed look. Available in Pacific Redwood, Provincial Walnut, Quebec Maple, and Sherwood Brown — or mix your own custom shade. After 3–5 years, simply reapply. No sanding required.
How to Use Milk Paint Stain:
Prep — Remove any previous topcoats so the stain can absorb into the wood.
Mix — Combine 3 parts water to 1 part powder. Stir or blend until smooth — it should be thin, like water.
Apply — Use even strokes from end to end for a consistent finish. Dries in about 15 minutes.
Seal — Finish with hemp oil, tung oil, or beeswax for a natural, food-safe seal. Two coats of oil is ideal.
